Greg Bear

Noted science fiction author Greg Bear was a visiting Nat C. Robertson Distinguished Professor in Science & Society during his Emory visit September 25-26, 2006. He presented an undergraduate seminar for the "Writing Science Fact and Fiction" class, conducted two workshops for graduate students, and presented a public lecture.

Bear helped launch a new graduate and undergraduate science writing program that encourages writing across genres. Faculty from Journalism, Creative Writing, Science Education, Science and Society and other programs are planning a graduate curriculum to foster better writing for expert and general audiences. Writing Science Fact and Fiction is a new senior seminar to introduce undergraduates to writing science journalism, fiction and essays.
