Dr. John Krige

John Krige

Dr. John Krige, Kranzburg Professor in the School of History, Technology, and Society at Georgia Institute of Technology, has returned to Emory for a second time as a visiting Nat C. Robertson Distinguished Professor in Science & Society. In the Fall 2007, Dr. Krige will teach the undergraduate seminar, “Science, Technology, and Society” for the minor in Science, Culture, & Society (SCS). During the Spring 2008, he will conduct a graduate seminar based on his research and publications (ILA 790/HIST 585 - Knowledge, Power, and the "Civilizing Mission.".

Dr. Krige has an intriguing interdisciplinary background, having been a physical chemist in South Africa before becoming a historian of science and technology. For additional information about Dr. Krige and his course at Emory, Click here.
